Housework doesn't need to be a chore with our handy cleaning tips it will help keep your home in tip top condition.

1. Whizz your vacuum over door mouldings, skirting's etc as you do the floor to keep dust at bay.

2. Use paper towels instead of sponges, as sponges carry germs which will spread.

3. Once every 7-10 days remove all food from the fridge and wipe down using warm soapy water, you can also use this time to check expiry dates of the food

4. To clean painted walls use a cloth with warm water and a squirt of washing up liquid and wipe down. for the stubborn stains use sugar soap cleaner as instructed on the labels.

5. Hoover wallpaper weekly to remove dust, wipe down with a damp cloth, check in the corner first to test if it is a washable paper, if water absorbs it isn't washable.

6. Regular vacuuming your curtains with an upholstery tool will remove dust and prolong the life of your curtains.

7. To clean your bath tub, use a damp cloth with warm water dipped in baking soda and scrub down the bath tub, then wash it with warm water, make sure you dry the tub as water can leave limescale marks, or make your bath tub look dull.

8. If you have freshly spilt red wine, blot the area - do not rub, then pour table salt onto the affected area, the salt will help absorb the wine, then when the salt is dry you can vacuum the area. If you don't have salt, baking soda can be used in the same way as salt. If the stain isn't fully removed use stain remover.

9. To clean and freshen up your microwave, mix 2 tbsp of lemon juice or vinegar and 2 cups of water in a microwavable bowl, microwave on high for 2-3 mins, remove the bowl carefully, then wipe down with paper towels.

10. Try and leave your kitchen sink and surfaces clean and empty at the end of the day.

11. Have a 5 minute tidy up in each room each day to help slowly de clutter, and keep on top of your house cleaning.

12. A paper towel dampened can be used on your mirror daily in your bathroom to remove toothpaste and water splashes to keep it shining clean.

13. Clean up spills straight away before they dry and make it harder to remove.
